Commander's Message
By the time this Post Examiner gets out, our annual picnic will be done. Thanks to all the help. Without all of you the picnic would not be possible. A special thanks to the S.A.L. for doing the chicken - great job.
We are no longer in the real estate business. As of August, we sold our last bit of property—the yellow house.
It seems like you fix one thing and then another thing breaks. We have replaced the ice machine; now we are having to replace the reach-in refrigerator in the kitchen. We also had to call in a plumber to fix a leak in the dishwasher and had to replace the motor on the swamp cooler. Enough of the bad news! Jay Carter, a member of the S.A.L., has taken over the routine maintenance of the Post. Jay, along with other members of the S.A.L., does things around the Post that go unnoticed. I appreciate all these S.A.L. members do for us - Thanks guys!
Thanks to Dennis Williams, Judy Matz, Carol Standley and all others for their recent efforts at the Filet Mignon/Lobster dinner.

President's Message
Good job Auxiliary members - we brought home the following trophies from Convention: Evelyn Ogilvie Membership, Marlene (Martin) Wettstein Membership, and Gen Horne Past Presidents Parley.
With the upcoming year, I still need a couple of positions filled and I am working on that. I hope to see NEW as well as OLD friendly faces at the meetings starting in September. I am going to try to have a training mini-session on our different programs at each general meeting in order to refresh the memory of older members and to enlighten new/younger members.
I know everyone had a great time at the picnic. Before you know it, Halloween will be here; then Thanksgiving; Christmas; and so on until the year will be over way too soon. Come to our meetings to see what happens - Get involved - The Auxiliary needs you and your talents! 9-1-13

During our summer E-Board meetings, the officers did some budget and activity planning for the coming year, which should prove to make it a very busy year.
We only have a few openings left on committees. If you would like to help, get your request in early by contacting any of our officer or myself.
Our door prize for the September 5th meeting will be a choice of two (2) lunch tickets, (One) Dinner ticket or an evening in Club 51.

As summer ends and fall begins, the S.A.L. will start their regular meetings again on September 5th, the first Thursday of the month and the E-Board meetings on the last Thursday of the month. We will be presenting some Bylaw changes to the membership that the officers think will help. Hope you can attend.
