Commanders Input

Members that haven't paid their 2005-06 dues, NOW IS THE TIME. The Post does not run on air, your dues are needed for the Post to function properly. We cannot participate in Community and Local school activities without membership dues. PLEASE! If you haven't paid your dues, NOW is the time.

October was a busy month at Club 51. We had the usual plus a Mexican dinner at the end of the moth. Dave Troutman and his authentic Mexican crew put on a very fine Mexican cuisine and a lot of fun and prizes.

November had a special day, November 11th - Veterans Day. the Post provided a Veterans breakfast for all our members and the public. Our veteran of the year, Frank Farmer rode in Albany's Veterans parade. Frank was an honored guest at the Veterans banquet at the Albany Post. Some of the local grade schools had assemblies honoring Veterans Day. The Post donated American Flags to be give to the students. this is an excellent way for our Post to promote Americanism.

Our Post was out in force with flags and sighs to welcome members of F-Troop back from Iraq.

Dave Roe and his crab cookers are planning the second crab feed. It was set for December 11th and has now had to be changed. Watch for the new date in February.

There are a lot of holiday activities going on at the Post and Club. The Christmas Bazaar and the kids Christmas party - read your bulletin for the complete schedule.

The Post Christmas baskets will be prepared at the Post just before Christmas. We intend to provide for as many local, needy, Iraqi Vets families as is possible. The food donation box needs a little attention, donations have been kind of slim

Please read the events calendar for the month of January 2006. The Department's Mid-Winter Conference is scheduled for this January at our Post. This conference gives members information on the direction of the Department and the National Organization. I would like to see a good turnout from our Post members. NOW IS THE TIME!

Thank you,
Jack LaFranchise, Commander
